Bruno: We're not supposed to be friends, you and me. We're meant to be enemies. Did you know that?

I watched The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas (because Asa Butterfield). And cried a lot inside. Actually, I read the plot on Wikipedia a long time ago....and was grateful for having done that near the ending, else I would've cried on the outside. Here's what it says on the back
Startling. Yeah right.

This Thursday, after I borrowed it from Tita Rita, a neighbour who has a collection of movies taking up on part of her shelf, and after a prayer meeting

Me: Tita Ritaaaaaa, I haven't finished The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas yeeeeeeet
Tita Rita: (Singaporean accent) Oh, it's ok, take your time.
Me: I actually know the ending, and it was unbearably sad.
Amila dai: WHAT?!?!!?!?!?!! You know the ending before having seen the movie????? (Apparently, he's one of those people who despise spoilers.)
Me: Well yes--because I was Wikipedia-ing the main character's actor-AND THEY DIE AT THE END
Tita Rita: D:
Me: And then the Jewish servant guy is like "Bruno, what do you wanna be when you grow up?" Bruno says something about being an explorer, but I overshadow it by saying, "My dear Bruno, you will never grow up. Because you DIE in the end, I know, along with Shmuel."
Amila dai: D:

Happy 115th birthday, Jack Lewis!

I've loved Jack since I was five.

Well, actually, I watched The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe when it came out when I was five, then oblivious to the fact about who wrote it (how many "w's" were in this sentence?!?!?!!). But eventually, as I'd grown up and discovered my school library when I was 7 or 8, two more movies of Narnia came out, and I found The Last Battle at a supermarket in Nepal, I slowly read all of The Chronicles of Narnia, and adoring the wonderful prose in them all by Lewis. And for the past three years, I'd uncovered more things about Jack Lewis, about his apologetics and revelations about God and Christianity. Though I dozed off while reading (there is such a thing, you're reading through words, but you actually aren't reading them, you know what I mean? and you aren't dozing off like sleeping and stuff) The Screwtape Letters the time we had vacation........

So! Anyways, hbd again. Thanks for being a part of what makes me and who I am today.

I believe I can fly; tumalon sa tulay. pagdating ng crocodile ay gutay-gutay!

[Thor and Loki commandeer a Harrow]
Loki: Look, why don't you let me take over? I'm clearly the best pilot!
Thor: Is that right? Out of the two of us, which one can ACTUALLY fly?
[the Harrow takes out a building]
Thor: Not a word...

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA......

...........AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
We watched Thor: The Dark World today. Now. Because I am typing this post without glasses. I am going to put some random thought into it. (AND IT CONTAINS SPOILERS SO GO AWAY.)

  • Loki's more interesting than his brother. As he's always been.
  • Frigga why did you die
Oh and I know they would shoot an arrow and set fire to the boat, because of How to Train Your Dragon's first book. May your eyrie receive you at your journey's end.
  • Malekith.... you were kind of boring, tbh!ha
  • Dr Erik Selvig, you will be the death of me. And Loki O_O
  • Darcy and Ian are cuuuuuuute
  • After ze movie, my seat mates were in a heated discussion about what happened to Odin and Loki and throne room. Tito Richard: Well, maybe it was really Odin again, cause he has some kind of "deep" side in him. I mean why did he adopt Loki? (Wikipedia says his theory is wrong) Mom: Maybe it was Odin who was killt by the spear, cuz why not? Me: I don't care about any of this. All I have to know is that Loki is alive.
  • Haha Jane. Whoyou're talking to is the king of Asgard. FIVE POINTS FOR HITTING PEOPLE!!!!!!!! Oh, and nice dress
  • All of Loki being good and honourable and sad and heroic and nice and marvellous before he "dies" comes to me as parallel to what Count Olaf from A Series of Unfortunate Events had done to Kit Snicket before he dies. And they both "die" by a spear. Except Count Olaf really dies.
  • "Why are there so many shoes here?" "Were those--the car keys?" "TA-DA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
  • Chris Evans.
OK GOODNIGHT ITS BEEN SO HARD TO DO THIS WITHOUT GLASSES
and sorry Thor I know this movie was about you but I only ever mentioned your name once not counting this sentence. you were good too *pats on shoulder*.And die how many times have I used you today

Oh and we went to one of the biggest bookstores in Kathmandu and I got something like a Business Result Elementary Student's Book of Oxford, because my dad told me to
AND THE BRITISH VERSION OF A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS (Egmont) ONLY COSTS LIKE ALMOST 3 US DOLLARS (well the Bad Beginning in other countries has a special introductory price, and the 12 other books in the series are more expensive, but here in Nepal they're..........265 rupees

I usually compare book prices from here to the Philippines', because idk the standards for other countries

"The foot with only two socks instead of three noticed its diminished state almost at once. It went numb, then unfeeling."-The Whatnot pg. 94

Oi, it's beginning to get cold here in Nepal. 18-20 degrees Celsius room temperature, and brownouts everyday, 18 hours at the most in the peak of winter. Hard, it is. But the Nepalis survive.

Marshmallow, Thierry LaFontaine
Except there is no snow in Kathmandu. ;-; sorry guys
